Tonya Anderson is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, She is the proud graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame, a prestigious all girls high school. Attending an all girl school taught her some valuable lessons. One is to always strive for excellence and to give your best in all that you do. Additionally, she lives by the motto to “ Never give up, and always believe in yourself, be passionate, dedicated and committees in all that you do”.

She has worked in various positions in Sales and Marketing in the healthcare and financial services arena. She is a licensed Realtor, and a licensed Insurance Producer in the State of Maryland as well. She believes in the health benefits of being fit. As such, she is a certified spin instructor. At present she is the Executive Director of the GYM Foundation. Throughout her career she received numerous awards and honors to include a few of the following: Business Sales Excellence Award, for being in the top 10% of sales executives in the nation, Community Partnership Awards, and the Diversity and Inclusion Award. She served as a guest panelist for the She Matters Conference in 2011 hosted at the 4 H facility in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

She holds a Master of Science and a Bachelors of Science from the University of Maryland. Currently, she is 4 classes shy of receiving an MBA. Additionally, she is a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She has serves is various capacities and leadership roles to include, Executive Board Member, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Protocol and Courtesies Chairman

She also serves on the Executive Board for the Riverdale Baptist School PTF. She enjoys working with youth and helping them to realize that they can do ANYTHGIN they put their minds to. She has made it her personal mission to see that all youth are provided with the necessary tools and life skills to help them to face the challenges ahead. She believes that in order to be successful, our youth need to understand the importance of dedication, commitment, personal development, and education.

She currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with her family.
